Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on February 27, 2023, at the age of 93 years. Russell was the beloved husband of Linda (nee Mraz) Gardner for 67 years and the loving father to LeeAnn Baker (Robert) and David Gardner (Lisa). He is the cherished grandfather to Kelly, Jonathan, David John “DJ”, Elyse, and great-grandfather to Bryson and Rachel. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Neil Gardner (Lil) and Jean Patrick (Michael). He is predeceased by his parents John Gardner and Maythe (nee Sherwood) Gardner. The family of Russell will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Saturday March 4, 2023, between the hours of 2pm to 4pm. A celebration of life will follow in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel (North Bay) at 4pm. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, staff, and doctors of B1 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for all their care and compassion during this difficult time. Russell’s family has requested due to serious allergies that instead of flowers as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Callander Food Bank, would be gratefully acknowledged.
