It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother on Monday June 5, 2023 at the age of 93. Dear wife of the late Edward Delanty. Loving mother of John (late William), Michael (late Donna), Patrick (Mary), Kathy (Don Dowser) and the late Cindy Hansen. Adoring grandmother to Lawson (Alex), Donna (Mark), Jackie, Patricia, Kayti (Dominic), Bailey, Jasmine, Heather, Kimberley and great-grandmother to Damyan, Faith, Beth, Mykailia, Avalynn, Annaliese, Molly, Sadie, Jessika, Justin, Austin, Isaac, Tommi, Bronson the late Abel and great-great-grandmother to Vyolet. Sister of Joyce (late Robert Pennington) and the late Betty (late Earl Armstrong), Duke (late Alice), Lena (late Jack Beckstead), Roger (Helena), Chester (Rosalie), Marion (Roger Brazier) and Winston (late Barbara). Always remembered by her special friends, Lin McPhee and Veronica Mobley. Ruby was born and raised in Digby, N.S. where you can take the girl out of Nova Scotia but you can’t take Nova Scotia out of the girl. A die hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan and a huge Blue Jays fan who rarely missed any games. Ruby was a community worker in Ottawa and was fortunate enough to have had lunch with our late Queen of England and the late Prince Phillip in recognition of her contribution to the community. Ruby was also the den mother to Allied van lines/North American/Atlas and United Van Lines fleet of drivers in the seventies and eighties. Many of her children spent their careers in the moving and storage industry. The door was always open for those who had been away from their own families for weeks end. The family would like to thank the staff of staff and caregivers of St. Joseph Continuing Care Centre for their care and attention given to our Mother during her stay for nearly three years. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. from 6-8 pm on Monday June 12. Memorial Service Tuesday June 13 in the Chapel at 11 am. If desired donations made to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, 14 York St. Cornwall, ON K6J 5T2 would be appreciated. Condolences may be left at www.daleyffh.ca
