On April 28, 2023, Mrs. Rosie “Rose” Wapikihew Iskwew Houle of Saddle Lake, formerly of Samson passed away at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Houle; 4 sons & 1 daughter, Drew (Natalie) Halfe, Leyton Halfe, Leon Halfe, Evan Halfe & Jerrilee Halfe-Houle (Jake); adopted daughter, Shaniece Cutknife; step-children, Shannon Houle & Trevor Houle; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Cutknife; special nieces, Mariam Buffalo & Annette Cutknife; adopted sister, Paula Steinhauer; numerous brothers- & sisters-in-law. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Peter & Eva Cutknife; numerous siblings including, Emily, Mary, Hazel, Bella, Dorothy, Norma, Wilson & Ben; first husband, Andrew Halfe. A Wake will be held on Saturday, April 29 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake (Leaving Grace Gardens at 3:00 p.m.). A Wake will be held on Sunday, April 30 at HBMC (Howard Buffalo Memorial Centre), Maskwacis (Procession leaving Ayiwakes Cultural Center at 12:00 p.m. to go to Maskwacis). A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. at HBMC (Howard Buffalo Memorial Centre) with interment in Samson Central Cemetery, Maskwacis.
