Ronald Moore

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Joseph Moore, age 59, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born in North Sydney, on May 17, 1963, to the late Chesley “Ches” and Margaret (Dunphy) Moore. Throughout his life he was a jack-of-all-trades, turning his hand to many different jobs over the years, although he was known most for travelling back and forth to Alberta to work as a labourer, a proud member of Labour Union Local 92.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 31 years Mary, his two sons Michael and Damien (Brittany Bonnar), and two daughters Emily (Gabe Hynes) and Alyssa Parks. His granddaughter Aaryn Parks and grandsons Aidan and Gavin MacDonald along with their mother Kathryn Smith. Also surviving are his sisters Arthena (Wayne), Lori (John), Patricia (Kenny), his brothers Gordon (Mary Lou), Howard (Corinne), Jim (Betty), his brothers-in-law George MacDonald (Donalda) and Sam Eide, sisters-in-law Kim Keeping (Ron), Sandra Dunphy. Also left to mourn are his two aunts Alice MacPherson and Margaret (Bill) Dunphy, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Mike Dunphy and brothers-in-law Craig Chaffey and Wayne Keeping.
Our sincere thanks to the amazing staff of the ICU especially “Dr. Thana” and nurse Jessica Taylor. Your compassion and genuine kindness to Ron and our family touched our hearts and helped us all through a very difficult time.
Visitation for Ron will be held from 2-4 p.m. followed by prayers with Rev. Debbie Fice on Thursday, February 23 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
