GARVEY: Robert William “Bob” – passed away at home, peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Bob Garvey of Port Rowan in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of Viva (Ferris) Garvey who predeceased him February 25, 2019. Survived by several nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Edward & Gladys (Bailey) Garvey, sister Dorothy & husband Gord Barber, brothers Albert & wife Elaine and Edward and wife Edna.
Bob was a very active member of the Port Rowan community having worked as the Manager of the LCBO until retirement and was on the Port Rowan Fire Department for many years and retired as the Fire Chief. In his younger years Bob was very involved with the Walsingham Senators Baseball Club winning many championships over the years.
A Celebration of Bob & Viva’s lives will take place at the Port Rowan Legion on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 12-4pm with words of remembrance at 1:00pm. Family interment took place beside his beloved Viva in the Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Port Rowan Firefighters, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Walsingham Minor Baseball would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be posted at www.gffh.ca
