Robert W.H. Jones
With his beloved wife Sandra (nee Binkley) of 52 years by his side, Robert William Hargraves Jones passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton in his 81st year.
Loving father of Shawn (†Amy) (Laurie) and Andrea (Shawn) Lorange. Proud grandpa of †Ethan, Madison, Samantha (Joey), Olivia, Nathan, Vivian, Elias, and Isabel; and Elizabeth, Timothy, Nicholas, and Matthew. Robert is survived by his brother Terry (Dawn) and predeceased by his brother †Howard (†Alice). He selflessly and sacrificially loved his family, who were so very precious to him.
Living an intrepid life as ‘The Happy Wanderer’, Robert spent some of his happiest times tooling around the world — whether his two years of travels during his 20’s, later with his family in tow, or after his retirement. He explored over 70 countries, living in six of them: India, Scotland, England, Canada, Japan, and Romania. He had many stories to tell and has left behind boxes of slides!
Though he had many more countries on his bucket list that he hoped to visit, he was also looking forward to being with his Lord. His faith in Jesus brought him great hope and peace, and he anticipated a homecoming more glorious than any he’d experienced before.
And, just at the moment someone said: “He is gone,” there were other eyes watching him coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: “Here he comes!”
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1:00 until the start of a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m., with a reception following. Cremation has already taken place.
Donations to the Kingdom Worship Centre, Hamilton or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
