It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Morden Wiles on January 15, 2023 in his 71st year. He was born in London, Ontario on November 27, 1952. Robert moved to Winnipeg in 1971 where he met and lived with his long-time life partner Joyce Lena Cree until her passing in 2005.
Robert is predeceased by his parents Harry Wiles and Phyllis Churchill.
Robert is survived by his sisters Sharon Schlemmel of Largo, Florida, Faye Carriere (Ron) of Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Marion Wiles of London, Ontario, Georgina Wilton (Bob) of Blenheim, Ontario and Cathy Stevens (Steve) of Thamesville, Ontario and by his brother Gene Wiles of Sault St. Marie, Ontario. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert will be missed by his girlfriend Rose Kitsel and the many friends who knew him as the funny, caring, gentle man that always had a kind word and an infectious laugh. Robert’s passion was collecting items old and new from around town in what he called “doing lanes”, mostly on his bicycle. He was a well-known frequenter at antique shops and curiosity shops around Winnipeg. One of Robert’s favorite pastimes was looking up his family tree and his many travels across Canada.
Robert, your laughter and endearing personality will remain in our hearts and memories forever and we will always be richer for having you in our lives.
As per Robert’s request cremation has taken place and interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery along side his beloved wife Joyce.
