It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Billing of Paris, in his 87th year, at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Gail (nee Shean-2007). Loving father to Scott & Ashleigh Billing of Burford, the late Kelly Brandon (2023) & husband David of St. George, and the late Rob Billing (2016) & wife Melissa of St. George. Cherished Grampy to Wyatt, Garett, Caleigh, Craig, Ashley, Shelby and Katie. Great-grandfather of Alayna and Adalyn. Predeceased by his parents Harold & Eileen (nee Atkinson).
Bob was born in Stratford where he later met his beloved wife Gail whom he married on June 29, 1963. The early years were spent in Brantford and then in 1973 they moved to Paris. Robert was a loyal employee of Gates Canada for 35+ years and retired in 1997. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Pike Bay and reading books at the junction in Paris while watching the trains. “Grampy” enjoyed spending time with his grand kids and could always be found at the hockey arena or soccer fields proudly cheering them on. He was a food enthusiast who was always looking for a grandchild to spoil at a local eatery (Kels Diner or Jim’s Lunch). Bob will be fondly remembered and missed by his family, friends and loyal lap dog Teddy.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street Burford.
