PAYNE, Robert Arnold
Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023 at his home at the age of 77. Bob was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Arnold John Robert Payne and Ethel May Scott. He is the beloved husband of 54 years to Diane (nee Ripchensky). He leaves behind his children Graham (Kathryne) and Jeffrey (Andrea) and his grandchildren Amelia, Lorelei, and Nathaniel. Bob is survived by his brother Brian (Diane), brothers-in-law John (Louise) and Daniel (Darla), nephews Brian Jr and Randy, nieces Catherine, Lori, and nephew Brian and many extended family and friends.
Bob was General Manager of Fairmont Hotels Kenauk in Montebello, Quebec from 1978 until 2001. His retirement years took him to Days Inn Kingston as Facilities Manager as well as Rosen Energies, Kingston. He served as People’s Warden at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Hawkesbury. As well, he was involved with the construction of the Royal Kingston Curling Club, and also served as President of the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League at Prost Bowling. He was a long-time stamp collector as well as had a keen interest in family genealogy. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, curling, and travel, and many other activities. He is sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Creamation has been entrusted to Trousdale Funeral Home Ltd., Sydenham and a Celebration of Life in Bob’s honour will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada in Bob’s honour. In the Care Of
