Obituary of Rita Whitney-McIlvenna
Passed away on Wednesday August 30th, 2023, at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Rita Whitney (Johnston) of Brockville and formerly of Lansdowne. Wife of Reginald McIlvenna and the late James Whitney. Loving mother of Judy Wheeler of Kingston, Brenda Rice of Athens, Steven Whitney (Joan) of Oshawa, Tom Whitney (Marie) of Prescott, John Whitney (Evelyn) of Omemee and the late Angela Noel and Guy Whitney. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Dear daughter of the late Margaret (Rousful) and Harlow Johnston; and sister to 14. Rita will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Private Family Graveside Service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. Arrangements entrusted to the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville. In memory of Rita donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
