It is with deep sorrow the family announces Rita’s passing on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Labine (2009). Survived by her children, Brenda Griener (Joe), Lloyd (Lynn), Sandra Bussiere (Marc), Darlene LeDuc (Barry), and Kenneth (Linda). Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Keith (Holly), Shawna Whish (Bill), Stewart (Amanda), Matthew (Lisa), Caley Griener (Amanda), Carson Bussiere (Leanne), Adam Bussiere (Alexa), Amanda Chalmers (Rob) and Darquise Hebert (Jay) and her great grandchildren Carter, Ava Rita, Logan, Connor, Danielle, Jackson, Nathan, Elizabeth Rita, Augustine and Brady. Also survived by her siblings, Jack Mahoney (Madelaine), Elaine Dyni. She is predeceased by her parents Edward & Mary Ellen (O’Sullivan) Mahoney, siblings and in laws Leonard Mahoney (Dorothy), Joan Caron (Emile), Kathleen Mundy (Stuart), Raymond Mahoney (Joyce), Victory Mahoney (Rolande), Ronald Mahoney (Rose), James Dyni. Prior to the lock downs she volunteered at the Lords Kitchen. She was an excellent cook and baker. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, her kindness, her laugh, her smile. The family would like to thank Dr. Auger, Debbie NP and the staff of E2 at the Golden Manor for their compassionate care, often in trying circumstances over the past 2 years. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, ON.
