Rita Poirier, 97, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday
February 15, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Rogersville, she
was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Alice (Richard)
Maillet.
She is survived by two sons: Ulysse Poirier and Wilfred
Maillet (Dorice); three granddaughters: Lisa Esser (Manfred), Barbara
Maillet (Wayne) and Linda Farquharson; many great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
She was predeceased her husband, Anselme; one son, Francis;
two sisters: Lina and Alma; three brothers: Adolphe, Levis and
Joe.
There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be
celebrated Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street,
Moncton (506-858-1900) on Tuesday February 21 at 2 pm. Interment will
be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Rita, a
contribution to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation would be
appreciated.
