On February 21, 2023, Richard “Rick” Bondy suddenly passed away at the age of 72. Rick was the loving husband of Karen (nee Lecuyer) for 48 years and the proud father of Brent Bondy and Sara (Jason Guyitt). Papa will be missed by Robert, Jayme-Lynn, Benjamin, Emily and Dylan. Rick will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and great friends. He is predeceased by his sister Judy Sneddon.
Rick was a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan and absolutely loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid gardener (although he wasn’t a big fan of hostas!) and enjoyed ten-pin bowling. Wine on the Bistro was enjoyed with his wife Karen every night. Rick valued his conversations with neighbours and getting together with his friends of the Boulevard Social.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Rick on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Life Transitions, 397 McNaughton Avenue West. A private family funeral service will take place afterwards, with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rick are welcome to the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
