Hashey, Richard Joseph
The passing of Richard Joseph Hashey of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Marion Hashey, occurred on July 22, 2023 at Home. Born on September 24, 1948 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Gerald and Ethel (Vance) Hashey.
Richard served for over 25 years with The Royal Canadian Armed Forces, including serving with the Blue Beret, in Cypris, Middle East and Germany. After retiring he volunteered with Meals On Wheels, Fredericton for over 7 years.
Richard is survived by stepchildren, Beth, Brian, and Matthew Taylor; sister, Elizabeth Fearon (Ace); step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including his God son and nephew, Matthew.
Besides his parents and wife, Marion, he was predeceased by his brothers, Earl and Donald; sisters Dorothy, Mable, Shirley and Jean.
A graveside service will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Meals On Wheels Fredericton, Fredericton SPCA or donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
