Obituary
Passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023 surrounded by his family. Beloved Husband of Gerda and loving Father to Edward (Luanne), Steven (Yvonne) and Denise (Ronald). Adoring Opa to Samantha, Brandon, Alyssa, Stefan, Casandra, and Trinity. Richard was born in Ukraine and fled to Germany during the second World War as a refugee. After some time there, Richard decided to immigrate to Canada. Enduring a difficult voyage overseas, Richard made it to Canada and despite a language barrier, he found a job as a brick layer which allowed him to support his family members who had also come to Canada. Some time later, Richard met the love of his life, Gerda, and they began their lives together. We are thankful for the time we had with a wonderful Husband, Father and Opa. We will miss you dearly.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place at PARKLAWN CEMETERY, 2845 Bloor St W, Etobicoke following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
