Robert “Bob” Murray Gardner, Mahone Bay
It is with broken hearts that the family of Rev. Robert “Bob” Murray Gardner, 70, of Mahone Bay, announce his sudden passing on March 3, 2023.
Bob was born in Berwick, NS, on February 17, 1953, to the late Rev. Murray and Olive Gardner. Like his father, Bob was inspired by the community of the church. He became a Minister in the United Church of Canada, and then served as a Chaplin for many years in the Canadian Armed Forces. After retiring from the Forces he served again as Minister in various communities in Ontario and most recently in Rose Bay, NS.
Bob touched the lives of many families, but none more than his own.
He is survived and dearly missed by his wife Reta (Cavanaugh), son David, sisters Beth Ernst (Tom) and Joyce MacInnis (Paul) as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the EHS paramedics and the South Shore Regional Hospital for their support in Bob’s final moments.
Bob’s funeral will be held at Trinity United Church, Rose Bay on March 13, 2023, at 11 am under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.
