With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Regina Marie (Gallant) Chevarie surrounded by her loving family at Rocmaura Nursing home on February 22,2023 at the age of 89, wife of the late Leo Joseph Chevarie.
Regina was one of 10 children. She was the daughter of the late Placide Gallant and Delia (Vautour) Gallant.
Regina was born in St Charles, N.B. and later moved to Saint John N.B. She was employed with Simms brush factory until her retirement.
She is survived by her children Norma (Kevin) Jones, Leo (Cathy) Chevarie, Raymond (Linda) Chevarie and Claude Chevarie. Grandchildren, Rachelle (Billy), Nicole (Adam), Amanda, Monique (Ray) and Great Grandchildren, Nicholas, Brooklynn, Jaxon, Brody, Breah and Sydney and great great grandson Mason; sisters Elodie Maillet and Fabiola Pitre and brother Josephat (Dianne) Gallant and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Bella, Semida and Brothers, Leonard, Hubert, Adolphe and Tom.
She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Regina was fondly known by all as “Memere” and she so loved that title more than anything. Her house was always open to all and she loved having everyone close. If you walked in the kitchen and found a cookie tin on the counter, you knew it was “Fudge Day” which was the best and still talked about till this day. She was known for so many things that made her the special lady she was, one was her special meat pies at Christmas which were the best and everyone made sure they arrived before they were gone. Regina loved everyone close so on Sundays were family supper days, having everyone gathered at the table you could see a smile on her face that would light up a room. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She had her own hobbies that she loved, bingo being a major one, she loved that game and was rather good at it and also loved her occasional trips to the Casino which made her a happy lady. Regina loved her trips down to her trailer in St. Charles where you could see her sitting on her deck relaxing and enjoying time with family which was so important to her.
The family would also like to thank Brenda and the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home (Garden Court) for taking such good care of our Mom.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2 PM – 4 PM and 6 PM – 8 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10 AM from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Regina’s memories can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
