It is with heavy hearts that we announce the expected but very much regrettable passing of Raymond Garry Long at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 4, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Sus, NB, on July 15, 1946, to his parents, the late Frank and Eva (Darling) Long and was the loving husband to his wife, Deby.
In addition to his wife, Deby, he is survived by his son, Garry (Kelly); daughters, Natalie (Jamie) Vautour and Jeanne Bunn; son-in-law, Darryl Baxter; grandchildren, Connor, Rebecca, Kahlan, Amanda, Matthew (Alex), Michael (Danielle), Heather (Brenden), and Eric (Mercedes); great grandchildren, Blake, Nolan and Mattie; siblings, Bob Long and Marion Frail; sisters-in-law, Murial Long and Delores Long; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Florence, Elva, Burt, Treva, Wilbur, Shirley, Francis and Judy.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held at Forest Hills Baptist Church on Friday from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held from the church on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11am and a private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish , memorial donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
