It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raffaele Naccarato in his 87th year surrounded by his family on July 18, 2023.
Beloved husband of Lucia for over 62 years. Devoted and loving father of Anthony (Sandra), Nino (Julia) and Linda (Carlo). Cherished Nonno to Nadia, Raffaele, Michael and Daniela.
Son of the late Michele and Serafina Naccarato and son-in-law of the late Luigi and Giulia Cupelli.
Dear brother of the late Emilio Naccarato (Filomena), Angelina Caprino (late Valerio) and the late Rita Fortino (Giovanni).
He will be sadly missed by his uncle Paolo Bozzo (Teresa), many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends both in Canada and Italy.
Raffaele was born on June 1, 1936 in Donnici (Cosenza) Italy. He immigrated to Canada in May of 1957 in pursuit of a better life for himself and his family. His determination and fearless character drove him to embark on many business endeavours throughout his life.
Raffaele with his family, dedicated their lives to the Construction Industry. He took pride in his meticulous approach in everything he touched. His passion for building and restoration of properties was rooted from his early years. He took pride in the business growth and beautification of his own community and never wavered in dedication.
He was a member of several organizations like the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Waterdown BIA, and the Donnici Social Club. He received many prestigious awards for his accomplishments throughout his life, including the Chamber of Commerce “Lifetime Achievement Award”.
Raffaele never missed an opportunity or an event to be with family or friends. He was a story-teller, always making people smile. His greatest love was his family and he was especially proud of his grandchildren. His generous heart and personality were bigger than life, and impacted everyone he met.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their support during this time. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Randy Cross, Dr. Ryan Cross, Dr. David Todd and Dr. Joe Berlingieri for their ongoing care. Special thanks to the ICU team at Joseph Brant Hospital.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 12-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. Funeral Mass will take place the following day at 10 a.m. at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown. Entombment to follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery.
