Prescott’s Obituary
PRESCOTT CHARLES HANF, 94, of Brazil Lake passed peacefully on February 13, 2023 at the Villa Acadienne, Meteghan. Born 1928, he was the eldest son of Charles and Mattie “Lenora” (Harding) Hanf. He was a quiet, gentle, hardworking man. As a former adventurous avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed reminiscing about his life, trapping, salmon fishing, hunting (especially deer). He enjoyed tending his fruit trees, vegetable and flower gardens. He loved to watch the Bluejays baseball team, play cards and pick blueberries, with his wife Jennie, which they sold at his roadside fruit and vegetable stand. He loved and looked forward to family visits, especially with the grandchildren.
Pres worked many jobs in his youth. Lumbercamps in Ontario, railway and road construction, to name a few. Later he joined the Dept. Of Transportation and worked his way up to the position of grader operator. He retired in 1988 after many years of service. He was predeceased by his second wife Martha “Jennie” Dulong, daughter Judy, sisters Gloria (Hanf), Lila Pearl (Cann), brother Glendon. He is survived by his son Scott (Holly) Brazil Lake, daughters MaryLou (Vincent Goreham) Forbes Point, Lisa (Wayne Thibeault) Rockville, sister Connie Travis (Villa St. Joseph), many Grand & Great-Grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and also his stepchildren and their families.
We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Villa for the wonderful care and kindness you gave Prescott and his family.
There will be no service, no visitation. Donation of remembrance can be made to Forest Glen Cemetery or charity of choice.
He will be missed, our Dad, our Grandfather and our friend, but always remembered.
