Obituary of Philip Paul LePage
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Phil LePage on December 30, 2022. Born on May 26, 1950, in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, he was the son of the late Paul and Ethel (Anderson) LePage.
It is difficult to put into words the profound impact he had on everyone who knew him. As a husband, a father, grandfather, brother and friend, he was one in a million. He had the rare ability to make anyone who he encountered better and happier. He brightened every room he was in, and meant so much to so many. Beyond being an exceptional and celebrated athlete, he devoted 42 years of his life and career to the province. He loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, golf, curl, or just take in a sunny afternoon on the deck. But above all else, Phil loved to love people. He will always be remembered with a twinkle, a wink and a smile… and a mimosa.
As a family, we will carry him and his legacy on with us in every moment moving forward and live in gratitude for every moment looking back.
Phil is survived by his adoring wife, Donna (Woodcock) LePage; his children, Tony (Courtney), Andy (Ally), Marty (Maggie) and Alexina (Kevin); grandchildren, Nate, Cameron and Lily; sisters, Paula and Jenny (Elmer); sister-in-law, Judy Misener (Carman), as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A celebration of Phil’s life will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 2 pm, with Fr. Bill Brennan officiating. Additionally, there will be a live stream available to watch at vimeo.com/event/2752765.
For those who wish, donations in Phil’s memory would be greatly appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
