It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Philip surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 51 years.
Loving father to Shane Lachapelle and grandfather to Neveah Reuben. Dear stepson to Astrid (Steinke) Schmidt and brother to Walter (Evangeline), Harold (Patsy), Frederick (Sherri) and Alex (Jenn). He also leaves behind Shane’s mother Anne (Bobby) along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, members of the Schmidt/Legault family, located in Germany and the United States.
Philip is predeceased by his parents Armande (Legault) and Ewald Schmidt as well as his brother William Schmidt.
Philip was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was the proud owner of RCIM Builders. We will miss him dearly and he will never be forgotten.
We would also like to take the time to thank TDH and Bayshore staff for the excellent and compassionate care provided.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1pm-4pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. The interment will take place at a later date. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital-Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
