Peter “Petie” Kennedy
November 20, 1970 – February 11, 2023
Passed peacefully away at Pleasantview Towers on Saturday, February 11th surrounded by his loving family as he always was, Peter “Petie” Kennedy, aged 52 years.
Predeceased by his grandparents James and Ursula Kennedy and Thomas and Mary Walsh; uncles Tony Walsh and Gordon Walsh; and cousin Andrew Walsh.
Leaving to mourn with broken but grateful hearts, his devoted parents Peter and Carol Kennedy (Walsh); loving sisters Gillian Sweeney (Trevor) and Janice Kennedy; and his precious nephews whom he loved to hear laughing and playing around him: Michael, Alexander and Nicholas Sweeney and Joshua Kennedy-Cole; his long-time caregiver Loretta Scott (Gary); aunts and uncles: Tommy and Mercedes Walsh, Effie Walsh (Dean Bearns) Patricia Walsh, Ed Kennedy, Marie and Bob Burton, Joan and Gerry Howlett; as well as all of Petie’s cousins and their children.
Petie lived a special life and was loved by so many family and friends. His smile lit up the room. He loved music, family gatherings, noise, laughter, smelling flowers and hearing the birds singing in our beautiful gardens and feeling the sun and wind on his face. His life was truly a gift to his extended family and we will be forever grateful for having our Petie for 52 years.
Petie’s family will be forever grateful to the 3 Northeast staff at Pleasantview Towers who provided exceptional care, love and support over the last 8 years. A special thank you to NP Michelle Whittle and Drs. Fardy and Keiley.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Monday, February 13th from 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 15th at 11:00 am from St. Theresa’s Church, Mundy Pond. Family request that those in attendance wear a mask during visitation and funeral.
Donations can be made in Petie’s memory to The Gathering Place or flowers gratefully accepted.
