It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Peter Lavigne, husband of Elita (Chiasson) Lavigne of Sainte-Anne, Gloucester County, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the age of 69.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alfred and Alma (Duguay) Lavigne.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Lisa Marie Lavigne (Mike), Laura Lavigne both of Iqaluit and Joshua Lavigne of Ottawa. His stepchildren: Lisa Marie Purnell, Lawrence Purnell and Scott Purnell all of the United States. One grandson, Justin Lloyd.
Two sisters: Lorraine Arseneau (Allan) of Toronto and Muriel St. Pierre (Daniel) of Moncton.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lionel and a sister, Carmel.
As per his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Peter may be made to Parkinson’s Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
