It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Girard announces her peaceful, but unexpected passing, at her home in Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 74 years. Peggy was born in Stettler on April 29, 1948, to Jack and Grace Pearn. Peggy later met Robert and the two were married February 17, 1968, spending fifty-five happy years together creating a family they loved. Peggy spent her life taking care of everyone by keeping their hearts and bellies full. Peggy never missed a soccer game, volleyball game, dance recital, or any other event to show her love and support. She was the glue that held the family together. Robert and Peggy lived in Hinton, Alberta, for forty-five years before moving to Sylvan Lake. Moving to Sylvan Lake allowed for endless memories at the lake, and in the backyard as Peggy was happiest spending time with her family. These memories will be forever cherished. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Robert; her daughters, Carmen (Dave), and Jaime (Steve); her grandchildren, Brette (Kyle), Callie, Marley and Max; and her great granddaughter Finnley; along with her sisters-in-law, Sandra, Noella and Janet and her brother-in-law, Hermel. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Grace Pearn, and her beloved brother, Dale Pearn. Peggy will be very missed by her friends and family. There will be no service at her request. We encourage you to honour her through positive memories that were shared. May a gentle breeze in heaven whisper softly in her ear to say how much we love her and will miss her dearly. I am so sorry to hear of Peggy’s untimely death. I spent many happy hours at her place during our school years. I remember catching a ride home with her many times from Edmonton to Stettler after graduation. My sincere condolences to Robert and their children and grandchildren.
