Dickson: Pauline Marie
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Pauline Dickson at the age of 71. After a brief, yet aggressive battle with cancer, Pauline passed away with her family by her side at Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Pauline Marshall, beloved wife of Dwight Dickson. Much loved mother of Kathy Frank and her husband Robby (Houston, TX) and Amy McKeown and her husband Toby (Godfrey, ON). Adored MeMawMoo to Jack and Emily Frank and Hannah and Sam Tulloch. Step grandmother to Ty and Rachel McKeown. Cherished sister to Mary Foley, Teresa Fowler, Tom Marshall, and Bernadette Hart; predeceased by two sisters Lucy Gilbert and Rita Goodfriend. Treasured aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born and raised on Howe Island, moving to Gananoque when she finished school. It was there that she met Dwight and they raised their two daughters on the family farm on Marble Rock Rd. She had the work ethic of an ox, was genuinely kind and compassionate and always, always gave more than she took. The family will honor her wishes by hosting a celebration of life in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the BGH Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.tompkinsfuneralhome.ca
A Time to say goodbye.
Today will be hard and tears will fall for sure, as we say goodbye to our mother, our friend, and our heart.
She’s been a wonderful mentor, leader, and mother to us all, she taught us how to be kind, work hard and to pick ourselves up when we would fall.
Her laughter was contagious, her smile was always bright, she could be found in the kitchen with a spatula or a broom, cooking and cleaning, morning ‘til night.
You never met a harder worker, or a person so much on the go, she was always willing to help others out, she had a heart of gold.
As life is just a circle, you are born, you live, you love and eventually we all will die, it’s never, ever easy, when it’s time to say goodbye.
But we must keep moving forward, don’t spend too much time being sad. Just dig up an old memory that makes us smile and brings a laugh.
Pauline marched to the beat of her own drum, never tried to be hip or be cool, and that is why we loved her so much, and will miss our MeMawMoo.
