It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Chapman on Saturday July 29, 2023. Paul will be remembered for the love and dedication he showed to his family, and his kind heart towards wildlife and the love of outdoors.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Chapman of 51 years, and children: Paul Chapman (Angie Chapman), Laura Chapman, and Trevor MacAdam. His grandchildren; Kasandra Cousineau (Zach Cousineau), Tyler MacAdam, Ashleigh MacAdam, Caitlyn King, Kyle King, Tyler Chapman, Brittany Chapman, and Dylan Chapman. Great grandchildren; Fallon Cousineau, Aria Cousineau, and Iyla King.
Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa (nee Chapman) MacAdam, father, George Chapman, mother, Kathleen Chapman, and son-in-law Paul King.
Paul was born on May 6, 1950, in Toronto Ontario. Paul was strong willed and brave. He was creative and adventurous. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through his life experiences and autodidactism. Paul enjoyed fishing, going for rides on his argo and ATV, wood carving, and sitting outside on his porch watching and listening to nature. Paul wore many hats throughout his life. He was a trapper, hunter, arborist, game warden, professional taxidermist, guitar player, self-taught carpenter, wood carver, and he put in 20 years of service at Hydro One in Brampton retiring at 52 years old as a supervisor.
Paul and Margaret met in Etobicoke in neighboring apartment buildings. They moved to Midland where they had both their daughters and married in 1973. They then moved to Brampton where they raised their daughters and built a family. About 13 years ago Paul and Margaret escaped from the city living to Whitestone in Muskoka to live in their log home that Paul built from the ground up surrounded by wilderness.
As mentioned, Paul was as an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman with a passion for outdoors and wildlife. Later on, Paul still had this passion, but chose to sit back and watch the wild creatures that surrounded his and his wife’s home. He took great joy when an animal would wonder in their backyard, and many did.
Paul will be forever missed by many, but he is now together forever with his daughter Lisa. Until we meet again. Forever in our hearts. Friends and family will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home on Tuesday August 8 2023 at 1 PM for the funeral service.
