Obituary of Patricia “Pat” Egan
Patricia Egan (Gleeson)
(Retired-Chief Radiologic Technologist at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital)
Patricia, daughter of the late Julia Gleeson (Doyle) and the late William Gleeson died peacefully at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice on September 1st, 2023. Pat leaves behind her loving husband and life partner of 60 years Bill Egan. She will be dearly missed by her children Maggie (Bruce Blomeley), Maureen, and Mary Catherine (Mark Ward); grandchildren Megan and Jason; and all her nieces, nephews and close friends. Pat will be fondly remembered by her sister Maureen and nephews Quentin, Sean, Brett and their families in California; her brother-in-law and dear friend Henry Egan (Allyson), and sister in-law Catherine Egan. Pat started her career in the early 1960s at The Ottawa Civic Hospital and worked abroad in Bermuda for a period of time. After 42 years of service, she retired as the Chief Radiologic Technologist at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital. After retirement she enjoyed volunteering, and spending time with friends and family. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Wu who gave Patricia wonderful care. Patricia’s arrangments have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd, 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior where relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the Boyce Chapel. Interment Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. In memoriam donations can be made to Hospice Care Ottawa or the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital.
