Patricia Blair
1923-2023
Blair, Patricia
With heavy heart and great veneration, we commemorate the
passing of our beloved matriarch Margaret “Patricia”
Blair née Givens. She left us peacefully in her
100th year. Her kind and selfless spirit a
great gift to all who knew her and her exemplary life will continue to
influence the three generations she leaves behind.
Born in east Toronto, the eldest child of decorated WWI
Canadian military medical corps veterans, she grew up on the Danforth
and was affectionately known to her friends and family as Patsy. As a
teenager, her love of music led her to join the Leslie Bell Singers
who performed for the troops during WWII.
Pat graduated from Trinity College at U of T and in 1948
married her love Desmond. They built a family the still-rural
outskirts of Scarborough and she devoted herself to raising her four
children, Brian, Anne, John and Drew.
GranPat will live on in the hearts all who were graced by her
gentle nature including her 4 nieces, 14 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilchrist Chapel
