Omer Babineau, 88, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday June
29, 2023 at Richard Pavilion of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in
Saint-Louis-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Auguste and Dorca
(Gallant) Babineau.
Prior to his retirement, Omer was a machinist at CN. Omer was
a practical joker and loved to make people laugh. He was especially
fond and proud of his family. He loved spending time with his
grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeannette (Martin);
four children: Della Roy (John), Claude, Paul (Sandra), and Nannette
Roy; nine grandchildren: Christine, Natalie, Corey, Vanessa, Becky,
Nicole, Michelle, Julie and Luc; five great-grandchildren: Avery,
Meleah, Archer, Kate, and Alexis; two sisters: Jacqueline Babineau and
Diane Mersereau; one brother, Normand (late Irma); as well as several
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by six sisters:
Ange-Marie Desroches, Rachel Couture, Lauréane Caron,
Augusta Martinez, Agathe Poirier, and Donalda Vautour; two brothers:
Raymond Babineau and Flavien Babineau.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday July 4 at 2:30 pm.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 1 pm until time of funeral service.
Interment will be in Saint-Louis-de-Kent. In memory of Omer, a
contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
