The Livestream Link will be available HERE on the day of the service and will go live approximately 5 minutes before the event.
It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the peaceful passing of Olga Hirt (nee Duchak). Olga passed away on December 31, 2022 at the age of 100, at Oliver Lodge. Olga was born in Moose Jaw to Rose and John Duchak, April 9, 1922. Olga met and married Joe Hirt. They lived in Sioux Lookout Ontario for many years and then settled in Saskatoon. Joe passed away in 1983. Olga worked at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon in the Central Supply Eepartment. After she retired, she became a familiar face two days a week. You could tell she really enjoyed volunteering there because she was still there in her mid 90’s. Olga was a loyal and dedicated member of the Rebeka Lodge and the Craft Guild, two clubs she loved dearly. Olga is survived by her daughter Darene (special friend Steve) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Joe; brothers, George, Stan, Metro, Nick and Fred; sisters, Jennie and Mary as well as son-in-law Wayne Shirley. A Viewing will be held on Thursday January 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Friday January 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Homme. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw. The family would like to thank Arborville care home and Oliver Lodge for the excellent care Olga received.
