Norman Albert Hossfeld, of Hanover, passed away at Durham Hospital (SBGHC), on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was 88.
Born in Carrick Township on March 10, 1935, to the late Adam and Alfrieda (nee Kreller) Hossfeld. Norm thoroughly enjoyed life on the farm, and country living. He married the love of his life, Evelyn, in 1988, and loved being a family man. Norman was a hardworking man, and took great pride in his work. Many may remember him from his years running his feed store in Mildmay, Norm’s Quality Feeds, and later operating his sawmills as well. He was a great friend to many, and will be dearly missed.
Survived by his loving wife Evelyn (nee Sickel) Hossfeld of Hanover. Loved step father of Douglas (Elaine Egerdeen) Kaufman of Carrick Township, and Barbara (Lawrence) Rowley of Alberta. Cherished grandfather and ‘papa’ of Brett (Sarah), Bill (Kylie), Tiffany, Joshua (Kasia), and Justin (Mary), and great grandfather of Craig, Natalia, Bella, Adalyn, Owen, Grayson, Gibson, Ashton, and Alexis. Fondly remembered by brother Harold (Eleta) Hossfeld of Carrick Township. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Florence Schaus, and Nelda Hohnstein, and step granddaughter Pamela.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 7-8:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11 am, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover. Rev. Fred Ludolph officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover, or to London Children’s Hospital (childhealth.ca/donation/) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
