Nora Kathleen Turner née Haywood passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023 at Riverview Heights Retirement Home, with the loving and caring staff of Riverview and Bayshore keeping her comfortable and her caregiver Sue lending endless support.
Loved and missed by her husband Robert Turner, daughter Jane Turner and grandchildren Abaigeal & Arabella Kelso. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Harry Haywood, brothers George, Douglas, Eric and Jack.
Born August 13, 1933 in Kamloops BC, Nora boarded the train for Toronto at 18 to attend the University of Toronto where she attained her Bachelor of Music. She played numerous instruments and taught high school music, band, english and geography in Bancroft, Manitouwadge and Barry’s Bay. In her semi retirement she taught piano and also devoted many years to being the choir director and organist at St. John’s Anglican Church in Eganville. Nora shared many travel adventures with Robert, Jane and family friends over the years, she loved the outdoors and enjoyed many years of swimming, walking, cross country skiing and biking. Thank you to all those who have shared your memories of her, they are all special to hear. They reflect the kindness and love she enjoyed by having you in her life.
Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Eganville on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 am.
