JENSEN, Myrna Mae, a beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away on February 19th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was a cherished mother to Mel Groom (Mary Ellen always to her) and her husband Rick, and a proud grandmother to Kristen, Colin, and Kathryn. Dear sister in law to Paul Jensen, Sally Sluman and Janet (Ken) Maw.
Myrna was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Kenneth Jensen (2003), who she missed dearly. Also predeceased by her mother Lila Fagan Gregory and father Clifford Fagan, stepfather Carl Gregory, sister in law Marion Jensen and brothers-in-law Torban Jensen, George Sluman.
Myrna was born in Oro Township, moved to Kirkland Lake, and then Sault St Marie, where she met the love of her life Ken in the church choir. They spent their married life hopping around Ontario for Ken’s banking career. Coincidently, every town was in need of a school secretary and Myrna was quick to fill the role. She retired from Lloyd Rice Elementary School to take on her new role as a full-time Grandma. Throughout her life, Myrna was known for her kindness, generosity, and her unwavering love for her family.
Family and friends will be received at St . Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 29 Bald Street, Welland ON., on Friday, February 24th, 2023 from 11am until time of service at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Wellspring Niagara or the Rotary Club of Fonthill. Her legacy will be remembered forever by those whose lives she touched and she will be deeply missed. Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
