Obituary
GOREHAM, Monty Leigh – 64, of Bear Point, Shelburne County, born on February 21, 1959 to the late Connie and Blanche Goreham, passed away on May 8, 2023 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Monty was the rock of our family, the voice of reason, and the person I knew, I and the kids could always count on for stability. When I thought times were at their worst, his go-to phrase was “Just look around, there are people that have it far worse than us”, always bringing me to the calm place I loved (being with him). He would have given his last dollar to help others in need but wouldn’t want any help from anyone. He loved his job, “It wasn’t work when you loved to go”. He enjoyed hunting deer, but especially loved hunting ducks, saying that it was what he missed most when his health declined. He also enjoyed bass fishing with me (Ginger), his tournament partner. Above all, he cherished his family, who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife: Ginger (Nickerson), our three beautiful children: Christopher (Monica), Shauna (Ian), and Curtis (Dana), our blessings (grandchildren): Hannah, Kalli (Sweet Pea), Brady, Zoe B. (Cupcake), and little Linnea (Jason), as well as three beautiful step granddaughters: Jessica, Morgan, and Courtney Harris, and five great grandchildren: Chloe, Reid, Everley, Xander and Xavier. He is also survived by his sisters, Crystal Allen (Barry) and Rochelle, and brother Andrew, brother-in-law, Michael, as well as several nieces and nephews who were all very special to him. He also is survived by his close friends, Nelson and Patty Ross and their boys, Patrick and Jeff. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beautiful sister; Angela (Angie) Bradley, who I’m sure greeted him with open arms and her beautiful smile. There will be a public visitation on Thursday, May 11 at the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington from 6:30-8 pm. Family are invited to come at 5:30pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 12 at 11 am at the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Joanne Ozon officiating. This service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Respiratory Clinic at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, the Atwood’s Brook Cemetery, or to a local charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to huskilson@ns.aliantzinc.ca or you may sign the guest book at www.huskilson.net
