With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Millen Elmer Anderson, husband of Joan (Regan) Anderson of Stanley, NB, on March 16, 2023 at their home. Born on May 17, 1949 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Burns and Tillie (Regan) Anderson. Millen worked in the woods most of his life. His passion was music, playing with his band “Nashville Mill” in variety shows or showcases and enjoyed playing poker. He had daily games of checkers, rummy and crib with Melvin (whom he is still up on). He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and teaching them card tricks.
In addition to his loving wife of 49 years, Millen is survived by his daughter, Becky Morneault (Mike); son, Jacob Anderson (Maggie); grandchildren, Maya (she loved her “Dampy”), Mya, Helen, Isobel and Axel; siblings, Melvin Anderson (Anne), Kenny Anderson (Denise), Mary O’Hara, Darlene Goodine, Lillian Wall, Juanita Green (Linden), 42 nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, George Anderson, Charlotte Hay, Winnie Duguay, Thurman Anderson, Ardie Anderson, Audrey O’Hara, Flora Douglass.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 12 to 1:30 pm. A Memorial Service will follow in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel at 2 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
