Obituary
Micheline (Mimi) McCarron, 90, of Penticton, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023. Mimi is survived by her two daughters, Claudette (Tim) and Suzanne (Bob); and her five loving grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Emily, Tom and Jack. She also leaves two brothers, Charlie (Kaye) and Jean-Louis (Ginette); and two sisters Claudette and Suzanne; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mimi was pre-deceased by her husband of 54 years, Willard McCarron, and parents, Jean-Jacques and Alice Caty.
Mimi was born on January 28, 1933 in Timmins, Ontario. Mimi graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island and spent more than 30 years teaching French including immersion programs to hundreds of students in Charlottetown.
She retired to Penticton in 1990. Mimi’s family will miss her quiet, calm demeanor and devotion to family. Mimi’s loved ones wish to thank Dr. Kooy, Dr. Jumaa and the kind doctors and nurses of Penticton Regional Hospital and the Moog & Friends Hospice House for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Penticton on August 12 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Penticton & District Hospice Society, Penticton, British Columbia.
