MCGUINNESS, Michael Joseph
Peacefully at Extendicare Peterborough on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Judy (nee Summers) for 51 years. Loving father of Shawn McGuinness, and Kathleen Robinson (Brian). Cherished grandfather of Ethan, and Ashley. Dear brother of Patrick McGuinness (Jennifer) and the late Hugh McGuinness. Dear brother-in-law of Beth Wallwork (the late Greg), Susan Healey (the late Dennis), and Jim Summers (Gwen). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Mike had a love for sports especially the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Argos. He would go to Dunedin to watch the Blue Jays in preseason. Amongst being a loyal friend, he was world traveller, and enjoyed walks on the beaches in Florida. He would spend hours on the lake in their small boat. A funeral service will be held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Cremation. Reception to follow in the Highland Park Reception Centre. In memory of Mike and in lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Tire Jump Start would be appreciated by the family.
