Obituary
Michael Charles Ennett, age 62, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Huron Hospice Residence with family by his side on March 26, 2023. Born in Sarnia, son of the late Charles and Vivian Ennett.
Michael is survived by his wife Laura; children Julia Bahen (Brad) and Nick. Brother of Gary Ennett (late Anne Ennett) and Judy Butler (Jim). Lovingly remembered by his and Laura’s extended families, including several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mike will be remembered by his family, friends and colleagues as brilliant, kind and charismatic. Despite having more than enough on his plate, he always prioritized what was important. He spent the majority of his career teaching at St. Michael’s High School in Stratford and as a local union President before taking a position as a Bargaining Officer for the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) where he was able to apply his passion for linguistics and attention to detail to negotiating legal contracts and supporting other presidents across the province.
He enjoyed jamming with his friends, trips to Vegas with the boys, extra hot cappuccinos from Balzacs, the cryptic crossword and traveling anywhere he could go.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, March 31, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Huron Hospice Residence, Seaforth Community Hospital or London Health Sciences Centre through the W.G.
