Merlin (Merle) George Seely
November 16, 1947 – February 17, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Merle passed away at home surrounded with love on February 17, 2023.
Merle worked in the oilfield for many years. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with family fishing, hunting, camping and going to rodeos.
Merle is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan; sons Jason, Jerrod and Nolin; grandchildren Serena, Cheyenne, Josie, Rory, J.R., Denay, Ruger and his great granddaughter, Caslynn. Merle will also be remembered by his sisters, May McKinnon, Louella Seely, Nita Workman and Mary Eldredge.
Merle was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Francis Seely and sister Lavern Tanner.
In accordance with Merle’s wishes, no formal service will take place. A family graveside service will take place at a later date.
Merle’s family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. VanStaden and Alberta Health Services Palliative Home Care.
