It is with great sadness that on Monday, May 15, 2023 Melissa Jane Copeland passed away suddenly. Melissa was born on April 2, 1979 to Kelly Elizabeth Graves (the late Lee) and Murray Christopher Copeland. Melissa leaves behind her beloved children Jadda, Hayley (Mckinnon), Parker (Sam), and Zander. Melissa was a proud grandmother to Layla and Emii, and was excited for her third grandchild who is on the way. Melissa will be deeply missed by her brothers Joel (Lyndsie) and Tim (Tanya). Melissa was a graduate of Queen Elizabeth Public School were she made many life long friends. She enjoyed being on student council as well as playing sports and gymnastics. Later in life Melissa overcame tremendous adversity when she returned to school in her late thirties and graduated to become a Personal Support Worker. She is remembered by co workers as a great teacher and having a personality that would light up the room. Anyone who knew Melissa will tell you that it would be impossible not to remember her. Her laugh was infectious. Melissa will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11am at Joshua Ministries (Pines Chapel) in Chatham.
