McCulloch, Marvin Thomas Luther ‘Marv’
Marv passed away far too soon, after fighting a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at the age of 62.
Born in Meaford on August 23, 1960, he was son of the late Allen and Donelda (nee Rear) McCulloch.
Marv will be greatly missed as the dear brother of Sharon Lobsinger (Jim), Dorothy LeClair, Karl McCulloch (Wendy), and was predeceased by his brothers Myles Rear (Hazel) and Douglas McCulloch.
He was the wonderful uncle of Duane (Jennifer), Kevin (Brianne), Michelle, Bobbi-Jo (Mark), Shaun (Jennifer), Dustin (Arianna), Brandon (Hannah)and great uncle to many nieces and nephews and a great, great nephew. He was predeceased by nephews Danny and Jason. He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbours.
Marv spent most of his young life fishing the Beaver River, playing broomball, hockey and baseball for the Sluggers. He always liked to keep busy. Marv worked for Craigleith Ski Club for 25 years, for Dale Harbottle 12 years at Greenthumb and for Travis Mackey in the winters plowing snow. Most recently he worked for the Parks and Trails Department for the Town of the Blue Mountains for the past 10 years. His passion was for carpentry and just an all-around good handyman and carpenter with great mechanic skills and very proud and well deserved of his workmanship.
Family always came first and meant so much to him. Marv was always there to help anyone who needed his help but rarely would ever ask for help himself. He was a mentor to many younger people. He was always there to listen and talk to people about their troubles over a nice cold beer when they stopped by Marv’s place.
He enjoyed watching the Owen Sound Attack and Toronto Maple Leaf hockey games every weekend with his neighbours Stan, Colin and Bill. Marv worked hard all his life but if you were looking for him during his leisure time you could likely find him at the Corner Café enjoying a few nice cold ones with his friends after a hard day’s work. Marvin will be missed by many of the different people who came into his life who called him “Uncle Marv”.
All are welcome to come and celebrate Marv’s life on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 1 until 4 p.m. at 124 Matilda Street in Clarksburg.
