Maxine’s Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Maxine Nina Payne announce her passing on Saturday, May 13th,2023 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 92 years.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Garry, Melina, Dwight (Elizabeth) and Delia (Scott). Grandchildren; Darris, Dale (Tyrone), Warren, Susan (Nick), Ashley (Lisa), Jonathan and Joan (Kenneth). Great grandchildren; Cordelle (Sydney), Jessie (Sierra), Amy (Mardy), Cody (Hannah), Kyle (Madalyn), Bailey, Carley, Riley, Tori, Dylan, Joey and great great grandchildren; Chloe, Oliver, Anders and Blakley. Special nephews; Luke Payne and Calvin Payne. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband Basil Payne, daughter Shelia Blanchard, granddaughter Helen Blanchard, sons-in-law Rufus Blanchard and Howard Sinnicks. Her biological parents Andrew Hutchings and Pearl (Payne) Hutchings, sisters; Judy (Leslie), Emma (Martin) and brothers; Ronald (Faith), Melvin (Rosie) Gilley. Step father William Gilley. Adopted parents James Samuel Payne and Alice Melina Payne and brothers; Arthur (Opal), Naaman (Ella), Reggie (Caroline) and Clyde (Florence).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and doctors at the long term care unit for all they gave our mother over the years. Your love and care will never be forgotten by her family. Thank you to the staff and doctors for treating her family with love and kindness when our mother was palliative, they went above and beyond for us.
Visitation will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Cow Head on Monday, May 15th,2023 from the hours of 2-4 pm and continuing at 7-9 pm. Also from where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 16th,2023 at 4:30 pm with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot. For those unable to attend the funeral service , it will be live stream through our Face Book page ; parsons funeral home(deer lake).
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main St., Deer Lake.
