Boulanger, Matthew Ryan – It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Matthew Boulanger, a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Matt’s vibrant presence and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. He departed from this world far too soon, at the tender age of 30, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends that can never be filled.
Born on February 28, 1993, Matt was loved beyond measure by his parents Brian and Barb. From the moment he was born, his spontaneous and creative nature illuminated their world. Brother to Kevin, Johnny, and Michelle (Tyler Green), and Uncle to James Green. He was preceded in death by his sister Nicole. Matthew held a very special place in his heart for his family.
Matt’s life was full of beauty, passion, and art. He saw the world through his own unique lens, always finding the true beauty and value in small and simple things. He was always quick to point out the magnificence of nature and people and captured life’s moments with “the perfect shot” on his camera (and then the perfect edit).
He was goofy, brilliant, uncommonly generous, and kind. Matt made it his mission in life to make the people around him laugh and smile. He made a lasting impact on all people that were blessed to know him, with his deeply authentic and raw personality.
Matt’s absence will be profoundly felt by his Grandmother Jo-Anne Boulanger (the late Blair), and his Oma Christa Kraft (the late Dieter), and his extended family.
Family for Matt was more than his blood relatives. Matt (aka “Bo”) held a special space in his heart for his friends. They were his true joy and inspirations. Matt’s friends all meant the world to him, and he would (and probably did) give them the shirt off his back any day. His parents and siblings are honoured to know that he was loved and admired by so many.
His joy and zest for life will be deeply missed by the many people who knew and loved him. His memory serves as a forever reminder to celebrate every moment, embrace the world’s beauty, and find joy in the simple things in life.
Friends and family will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Sunday, June 18, 2023 between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Monday, June 19 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown. Reception to follow in Church Hall.
