Obituary of Mary Theresa Bucci
BUCCI, Mary Theresa- Age 67 of Halifax, It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Theresa Bucci announce her passing on February 1, 2023, following a brief illness. Born in Halifax, N.S, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Sophia Stack.
Mary worked for many years at Dalhousie Law Library and then, after staying at home raising her family, spent many more happy years as a lunch monitor at École John W. MacLeod – Fleming Park School. Mary had the most tender heart of anyone – she always found a way to give to those experiencing loss or those in need of kindness. Whether it was a compassionate ear or just a warm cup of hot chocolate, she always thought of others before herself. Mary loved animals, both with paws or with wings, and among her many pets over the years were three grey hound rescues that she lovingly adopted while providing hours upon hours of support to the local rescue group.
Left with a lifetime of loving memories are her husband, Laurie Bucci; sons, Christopher (Erika Sjolander) and Corey (Maggie Traenor); brothers, Robert Stack (Margo Connors) and Edward Stack (Miho Kobayashi); nephews and niece; special friends Bonnie Best-Fleming and her husband Brian. She was predeceased by her infant baby sister, Julie Ann.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with Mary’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name can be made to the Halifax Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice.
