Obituary of Mary Patricia ‘Pat’ White
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Mary (Pat) Patricia White (McPherson), age 75 on January 21, 2023, in Harbourstone, Sydney, surrounded by loving family.
Born in New Waterford on March 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred “Biff” and Genevieve “Jenny” McPherson (Oliver). Pat met Sandy White at a dance in Glace Bay, NS, and they were married on August 5, 1967. Pat and Sandy moved to Glace Bay, NS where they made a beautiful life raising their four children. They returned to New Waterford in 1996; blessed to be part of two communities of loving family and friends. Pat enjoyed cooking, dancing, going for walks and spending time with family and friends. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her biggest joys in life.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her husband Sandy; children, Stephen, Kenny (Condea), Michelle Miller (Jeff), and Chris (Sarah); grandchildren Drew, Darien, Koen, Kasen, Sam and Alex. She came from a large family with siblings, Marlene Jewer (Bill), Blair McPherson, Fray Hogan (Goodlord), Bunny McPherson (Willena), Clorene McPherson, Timmy McPherson (Judy), Junior McPherson (Donna), Alanna Snook (George), Gussie McPherson (Cathy), Brian McPherson (Rose), Shannon Slusarek (Richard), Dino McPherson and Charla McPherson (Spuddy).
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Harbourstone for their care and compassion. Cremation will occur under the care of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. Following her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
