Mary Rose Rogers
February 25, 1928 – February 17, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Mary Rogers 94 in the Truro Hospital on February 17, 2023. Born in Halifax February 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Eva Murphy (stepmother) and birth mother Rose Murphy.
She was predeceased by her late husband James Calvin Rogers, her sisters Lois Davey, Shirley LaPierre,George Murphy. She will be sadly missed by her sons Danny(Cheryl) Rogers, Oakfield, Jim (Frances) Rogers, Waverley, Yvonne Reddick, Langley, B.C., Rose Clare, Ketch Harbour, Francis Rogers, grandchildren, Gillian, Aaron, Scott, Logan, Angela, Chris, Shawna, Danielle, great-grandchildren Aarley, Axel, Chloe, Alex, Calicka, Noah, Mallory, Evan, Vonshea, DaVeena, great great-grandchildren Malik, nieces and nephews in Dartmouth and Alberta.
Mary loved to see her grandchildren. It always brought a smile to her face. She loved to sit on her swing outside in the summer and watch the birds and squirrels in the yard. Mary spent alot of time making hand towels and kitchen clothes for Christmas for everyone, and homemade socks that her sons loved. She also loved her jewellery. They knew her by name at the jewellery store. She was part of the Northwood at home care and grew to have many special relationships with some of her home-care workers.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has been entrusted to T.K. Barnard Funeral Homes. A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors that looked after Mary during her time at the Truro Hospital and especially the palliative care unit as well as all the Northwood Home Care staff that helped out with Mary over the years.
