It is with deep love we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Gatti (nee Pisni) in her private room, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gatti (2020), loving mother to Carole Ingham (Brian), Paul Gatti and John Gatti (Daniela). Beloved Nana to Matthew, Andrea, Laura, Jill, Paula. Great grandmother to Kamyiah, Nova, Liam, Grace, Faith and Amelia.
Daughter of Hungarian parents Steve and Sadie Pisni (meaning proud). She shared with her brother Steve and Nick a love of Hungarian cooking, travel, and music in particular her Viennese waltzes and opera. She enjoyed corresponding with family and friends through personal letters and cards.
Remarkable for her appreciation and empathy, Mary’s last words spoken were “Thank you”. She was always grateful for the kindness of others. A special thank you to the caring staff at Good Samaritan; there were many laughs, hugs, and tears. Mary was so loved by all.
A mass and celebration of Mary’s life will be held later this spring, her favourite time of the year, at St. Paul’s Catholic church in Alliston Ontario. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Arthritis Society or a local charity.
