The family of Mary Ellen Major (Sam) are saddened to announce her passing on July 3rd 2023. Sam is predeceased by her husband Art Labelle, and her son Jesse Major. Sam is survived by her daughter Trish Tye (Mike), her sister Gwen Duffy, and nephew Jason Duffy(Evan and Ian). Loving grandmother to Kayleigh Wade, Mitchell Tye, Jada Major, Davon Garrand and adoring “GG” to Roman and Royal Wade.
As the owner of beloved local watering hole, Sam’s Brass Racks, she will be fondly remembered by her many patrons and friends. She will be forever remembered by her friends in Sousa, Dominican Republic where she formed lasting friendships with many locals.
Family and friends are invited to Sam’s Brass Rack, 24 Perth Street for a celebration of Mary Ellen’s life on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 2-6 p.m.
Donations in Sam’s memory may be directed to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation.
