BLAKEY, Mary Elizabeth (nee Boyes) –
Passed away suddenly in her sleep at Sunset Manor Long Term Care, Collingwood on Thursday August 31, 2023, at age 75 years. Loving wife of the late Mervin Blakey (1996). Cherished mother of Charlie, Mark (Keli), the late Laura (Rob Steffler) and the late Donald. Grandma of Emilee, Matthew, Connor, Damon, August and Kaitlyn. Dear sister of Mildred McInnes (Reg), Kathleen MacDonald (the late Wilson) and sister-in-law of Mac McIntyre and Darlene Boyes. Mary is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Mervin, daughter Laura, son Donald, sisters Sadie McIntyre, Shirley Parker (Harold), Margaret Moffat (Bill) and brother Duncan Boyes. Mary stayed at home to care for her family after the sudden passing of Mervin. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all. Her family greatly grieves her loss, but they take comfort in knowing that mom and dad are together again.
The family will receive friends at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11 o’clock to 12 o’clock. Interment to take place at Maxwell Cemetery, Maxwell. A donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated by her family.
